42 All-Time Classics (Nintendo DS)42 All-Time Classics (Nintendo DS)In a nutshell: Possibly the least obscure game title ever, this does exactly what it says on the tin with forty-two classics from chess and backgammon, to darts, poker, bridge and solitaire.
The lowdown: The surprising thing about this game is that nobody\'s thought to do it before. The games are split into three varieties of card game and two of board games, plus a selection of \"action\" games including bowling, darts and billiards. Playing the card games is just as easy as you\'d expect with two screens and a stylus, whether it\'s Old Maid and Pig or Texas Hold `Em and Bridge. The board games work just as well, with Chinese Checkers, Checkers (i.e. Draughts), Dots and Boxes and more. You\'ll also find games like Turncoat (i.e. Othello), \"Connect Five\", Ludo, Mahjong and Solitaire. You have got to go to some effort not to find something of interest amongst this selection. Most exciting moment: The best thing about having so many games is that, except for the ones that are purposefully single player, they can all be played online. If you\'re playing against a friend you can even chat using a PictoChat style interface. Since you ask: The Japanese and Western versions of the game have several different exclusive games. Japan never got Texas Hold \'Em, Dots and Boxes, Grid Attack, Ludo, Dominoes, Escape or Mahjong Solitaire but instead have Napoleon, Goninkan, Bozumekuri, Sugoroku, Size Game, Last One and Mini Golf in their version. The bottom line: The one video games compendium that really is for everyone. - HARRISON DENT Customer Review: exactly what it says on the tin good value Exactly what you would expect, lots of choice of different games, all wel known & loved, no need for tricky game play or reading of instructions. put the card in & off you go- lots of different ones to choose & less likely for you to be bored. This is a great value for money choice Customer Review: A Game Compilation For The DS/Lite!!! This Game Compilation Has 42 Games Including: Poker, Darts, Bowling And Loads More! MySims (Nintendo DS)MySims (Nintendo DS) The Sims 2: Pets has already appeared on the Wii, but it was just a simple port of the PlayStation 2 version with little real use made of the Wii remote. This though is a complete reimagining of the whole The Sims concept made exclusively for Nintendo\'s consoles. The concept is largely the same as always as you take control of the lives of your own fictional family in what\'s a cross between a video game and an interactive version of Big Brother. The graphics have been completely revamped, moving away from the pseudo realism of the older games and using a much cuter, cartoon style that\'s somewhere between Playmobil and Animal Crossing (they\'re actually modelled after a Japanese toy line called Pinky Street). Naturally the game makes full use of the Wii\'s controls with the remote used to pick up, rotate and drop objects and buildings with refreshing ease, while the nunchuck is used simply to move around. This is all in the aid of making the game as customisable as possible, from the characters themselves to their homes and furniture. Previously The Sims games let you build your own house or swimming pool but here you can design your own fridge if you want or bed, sofa or any other item of furniture. This feeds into the concept of having to do up your house and turn your virtual ghost town into a thriving village full of oddball characters. With Animal Crossing still some way off this could be the next big casual game on the Wii. Harrison Dent Customer Review: My Sims great FUN MySims is a really good sim game where you create your own little sim and move into a town where you help out and in the end make it a tourist filled place full of shops. You get loads of clothes to buy and choose from, do mini-games to earn the money and have your house to buy furniture for. Very fun to play, even for people who don\'t particularly like The Sims as there are a lot of mini games to play like making flower necklace things for the florist in town, paragliding, sky diving, dowsing, racquetball and much more! You meet lots of different people in the game along the way to making the town a better, funner place. I would totally recommend it!
Disadvantages: When the game ends there is nothing to do really, like you have no goals left so all you can really do is walk around town all day.
Customer Review: Fantastic fun So far i have yet to find a fault with this game. It has proven addictive with endless amounts of fun. I completely agree that the sim interaction can be a little slow but there is no way im going to mark it down for that. I cant wait to play it on the wii!!!!

Mario Kart DS (Nintendo DS)Mario Kart DS (Nintendo DS)Customer Review: Completely over-rated This game is, as the title says, completely over-rated.
For starters, it cuts through the battery life very quickly, especially if you\'ve got the sound on. Because of that, I played the game with sound off, most of the time so I didn\'t have to constantly charge my DS. I suppose playing with the sound off wasn\'t much of a loss, seeing as the sound in this game isn\'t anything special.
The game gets VERY repetitive after a short period of time. Any half-decent gamer could complete this game in less than a day, easily. When you complete it, there\'s nothing to keep you coming back to play it again.
The graphics are just plain average, and are nothing too eye-catching.
I didn\'t enjoy the racing either, it was tedious and it got repetitive and too easy, really quickly. All you have to do is learn the AI\'s racing line and the game becomes a lot easier, because you place items in their racing line, and they\'re not smart enough to avoid them.
The only reason I gave it 2 stars, is because it can possibly keep you going for a few hours, if you\'re bored enough.
There\'s better things you can spend your money on, instead of this. Customer Review: Magnificent Mario Kart! After trying New Super Mario Brothers I was a little apprehensive about this. I couldn\'t get into Mario Brothers at all and was hopelessly diappointed and extremely frustrated.
I am, however, usually good at racing games and thought I would give this a go. I was so pleased that I did as this game is fantastic, one of those games that you don\'t want to put down, that you can\'t get enough of. I won races!
This game is worth purchasing and with it I had fun for the first time with anything Mario related!
The Simpsons (Nintendo DS)The Simpsons (Nintendo DS)Customer Review: As Mr Burns would say \"Excellent\" Although it doesnt boast the same 3D graphics as other formats. The 2nd platform works really well. There is a huge amount of dialogue and the cutscenes are all there as well. The game is about the right difficulty with a few hard parts. My only gripe is that its not that long but apart from that definately 5 stars!
Nintendogs Dalmatian & Friends (Nintendo DS)Nintendogs Dalmatian & Friends (Nintendo DS)In a nutshell: The ultimate evolution of virtual pet: Nintendogs gives you opportunity to preen and look after a selection of cute puppies in a virtual home, with virtual currency, where you can buy toys and accessories for their enjoyment. You can clean the pups, feed them, walk them, play catch with them, and even talk to them. The lowdown: Nintendogs is brimming with character. Each pup looks out from the DS touchscreen and paws longingly. You can respond to your virtual pet\'s need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS\'s inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders. Most exciting moment: After a few attempts to speak commands into the microphone, your puppy understands the meaning of \"sit\", barks approval, and sits down. It\'s good to talk. Since you ask: You can keep three pups in your home at any time. When left to their own devices, they\'ll play and play-fight together. And they call this \'puppy love\'. The bottom line: A Nintendog is not just for Christmas. Jonti Davies Customer Review: It\'s not brilliant but it\'s ok The money is a bit of a problem, and it\'s not very clear on how to do the obedience trials. You start off with £1000 but dogs costt around £550 so you get stuck for a bit unless you sell some accessories. Maybe they should re-issue the game with a few improvements! Customer Review: Hmm... I got this free with my Nintendo DS. The graphics are fantastic, very realistic and VERY cute. It makes great use of the touch screen. However:
-you can really only spend about 10 minutes on it per day -it gets really boring very quickly -the voice recognition sounds good and is quite fun the first few times...then it is incredibly annoying as you pitch has to be perfect -extremely overpriced, only get if free or up to £5
So I\'m sorry to say it\'s a really rather terrible game : ( I wouldn\'t recommend it to anyone, and don\'t buy it unless you\'re a millionaire.
Sorry to be so pessimistic : )
Hope this helps!
Pokémon Diamond (Nintendo DS)Pokémon Diamond (Nintendo DS) You might not see the supporting merchandise so much nowadays but Pokemon is still the most successful games franchise in history. Diamond and Pearl sold 5 million copies in Japan in under three months and 1 million in America in just one month, breaking all records for the year and the series. At first sight though this looks disappointingly similar to the existing games, with only a subtle 3D effect for the game world and largely static 2D battles. However the gameplay has undergone a complete overhaul, adding numerous new features and reintroducing others from Gold/Silver/Crystal, that had previously been removed. The basics are still the same though, as you venture out into the world (called Sinnoh this time) in an attempt to catalogue each and every pokemon and battle the evil Team Galactic. Catching and training a pokemon for combat also works the same as before, although beauty and talent contests have been greatly expanded for those that prefer as little violence as possible. The game includes a day and night cycle, which severely impacts the appearance of pokemon, and you are given a new gadget called a poketch which starts as a simple watch but can be upgraded to everything from a scanner to a map. Secret bases are back and considerably more sophisticated than before but the most important new feature by far is the online mode. You can now trade, chat and battle with fans from around the world - proving that progress is not always just a case of better graphics. Harrison Dent Customer Review: Brilliant Brilliant cos it has all the good things from the last few games and new stuff like the 3d effect and the poketch which replaces the pokenav from hoenn. Even though the story line is the same as all the other games the new features sort of cancells that out.
