Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii)
In a nutshell:
Now everyone can be a brain surgeon as you pick up scalpel and forceps to battle the full horrors of an infected intestine, medical terrorism and angry anime nurses!
The lowdown:
The original Trauma Center is already one of the most original and fun games on the Nintendo DS but although this is largely just a remake of that game it’s more than welcome on the Wii. As accurate a simulation of real medicine as Phoenix Wright is of law (i.e. not very much) you’ll nevertheless have great fun repairing hapless patients with ailments that start of as simple tumours to bizarre fights against evil terrorist nanobots. What really makes the game though is the simple intuitiveness of the controls, with the precise movement of your scalpel being one of the best endorsements of the Wii Remote’s accuracy. The game’s no push over though and you’ll need to employ the mysterious bullet time style “healing touch” to make sure you don’t end up the Doctor Death of Hope Hospital.
Most exciting moment:
Although the game is a remake of the DS it does include several new missions, an extra playable character, new operation types and new surgical tools - including a defibrillator which demands a shout of “clear!” every time you use it.
Since you ask:
A surgery game was one of the first styles of games hinted at in an introductory video for the Wii, which also showed people appearing to play games involving fishing, cooking and playing the drums - amongst other non-typical games concepts.
The bottom line:
Major surgery has never been so much fun as the Wii and DS line-up combine.-HARRISON DENT

Customer Review: very differant
it is a good game to start off with but it is one of those games that you either love it because it is so differant or hate because it is a bit fiddally. But if you have good steddy hand and want to challenge yourself buy this game
Customer Review: A strange mix of a game
This isn’t a bad game, but it is a strange mix of ideas that have come together to form this. Firstly, the controls are good. A combination of using the wii remote with one hand to cut, drain, zap with laser, stitch and apply antibiotic gel, and the nunchuk with the other to quickly scroll between your options. The things you need to do to complete each operation are well paced, the problem solving aspect is good, and the difficulty is about right. The cutscenes are plenty. The story is reasonably written and the pictures are well drawn. However, I would question whether any gamer actually reads them all. So for those that don’t, wouldn’t it be great if we could bypass them? Unfortunately there is no option to do so, meaning you’re stuck with clicking the ‘A’ button through the hundreds of useless screens. Finally, the knowledge background is appalling. If you ever thought the medical scenarios in ER were unbelievable, then this is ten times worse. Ridiculous made up anatomy, medical terms and operations that would normally kill someone are put forward here. It makes saving someone easier though - just smear antibiotic gel or inject some green liquid into them every time their health is getting low and they will miraculously recover! I guess you just have to accept that this is a game and try not to learn anything from it.

Customer Review: If you like this sort of thing, this is the sort of thing you’ll like
I bought this cable more out of curiosity than anything else, and didn’t really know what to expect as there seem to be lots of contradicting reports of what RGB scart does for you. Here’s my attempt to describe its effects having tried out most of my games on it- Zelda: twilight princess - This game has lots of very small or detailed text, and the cable improved the sharpness of the details. Mario 64 - surprisingly, this game was enormously improved from the composite cables, making text more readable and graphics more vibrant and well-defined, making the whole game seem fresher. Sonic 2 - the game feels more vital somehow- presumably because the lines in the background are more defined so you get a greater sense of it whizzing by. Zelda: A link to the past - The text across the top of the screen (for arrows, bombs, rupees etc) is more readable. Super Mario Sunshine - Oddly enough considering mario 64, i saw no discernible difference at all with this game. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Detailed textures were sharper, and given that this game makes extensive use of pretty textures it makes the game look better. Note: this game runs in 480i only, and 480i seemed to look a lot nicer on my TV through the rgb cable than through composite, though i suspect that depends more on the TV. Overall, the edges of text and buttons, boxes etc. are better defined, and the edges of 3D objects are better defined. Fine details in textures which would be lost in the blurring of a composite signal are preserved by the rgb cable. If you can find one of these cables at a relatively reasonable price (I found one priced at ?16.99) then if you’re interested in improved graphics it’s probably worth it, as it does represent the optimum experience on a standard-definition TV.
Customer Review: As expected… Great
Does what you would expect a Scart RGB cable to do… Make everything look a lot better, sharper and clearer by a composite comparison. There is no screen ratio switching with this cable, which is usual for Nintendo RGB leads. My X-Box system uses this kind of switch with my 4:3 television and causes a, very squished, wide-screen picture. One problem, however, is the fact that the Nintendo Wii keeps a signal on, in such cables, even though the machine is in standby/online mode. It keeps the TV focussed on the Wii, even though the console is not being used. This is actually a Wii problem though, rather than the cable. If you are using a standard screen TV, it’s probably best you use this Nintendo RGB cable.

Customer Review: HD TV? Nintendo Wii? Buy these cables!
Well, what’s the point in having a TV capable of giving you a clearer image with mostly anything if you don’t buy the cables? I can tell you, you won’t regret buying these for your Wii. As soon as I got them I hooked ‘em up and changed the settings on the Wii, and I instantly noticed the difference! A much clearer and crisp image which looks very nice on a 40″ HD TV. I haven’t tried playing any games yet, but I’m pretty sure they’ll look amazing. You can’t go wrong for ?[..], great product and a great price, thanks Amazon and Nintendo.
Customer Review: 480p of joy
This does make a real difference to graphics on your telly. The cable seems well constructed and works well.
