Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii) If you think you knew what it felt like to be the bounty hunter behind the visor, think again. The Galactic Federation?s network computer, Aurora Unit, is suddenly and completely corrupted with something like a virus. The Federation believes Space Pirates may be behind the problem and are soon attacked. Samus and other hunters leap to their defense only to find that the enemy they face is Dark Samus, armed with immense power that no one can withstand. Players control Samus by moving with the Nunchuk and aiming with the Wii Remote allowing for a level of immersion unlike anything they have ever experienced. Through the eyes of Samus, players experience a quantum leap in first-person control as they wield the Wii Remote, the ultimate device for the first-person shooter genre. Samus will employ well-known power-ups like the Grapple Beam and Morph Ball, as well as a bunch of new surprises, to help her survive her coming trials. The game also incorporates a new system involving Phazon. If you fill Samus’ Phazon supply to a certain level, Samus will temporarily go into hyper mode, a state in which she can pull off incredible feats. On the flip side, if she exceeds the maximum Phazon level, she’ll perish. Also, for the first time in the Metroid series, Samus’ ship will be used in active game play
Customer Review: Everything i hoped for and so much more
Despite the wii’s huge success, you can’t help but feel a little sorry for the poor machine. Since its release, external games producers have been making garbage games (yes, im looking at you, ubisoft, activision etc) hoping to make some money from the wii’s success. Only a few companies, such as capcom have taken care.

Thankfully, Metroid Prime 3 corruption is now here, and its the best wii game yet. (alongside zelda)

Well, without giving away too much, let me tell you about it.
This is the conclusion to the prime trilogy, and if you played prime 2, youll know samus became infected with phazon. This is the main focus of the game. At the beggining, the galactic federation calls together a group of bounty hunters, samus is one of them. The Galactic federation needs your help…but i’ll let you find out the rest for yourself.

While the story will keep you interested through out the game, it’s the controls that make it really shine. Until now, the FPS genre has been badly represented for the wii. Red steel was glitchy, Call of duty didnt really feel right, and all the others were pretty much the same as this.
Metroid prime 3 however, makes a grand change to this. The controls are smooth, never pausing or glitching, and aiming just feels so good. After just a few hours with corruption, it makes playing a shooter with analogue sticks feel like a thing of the past, the aiming is that good. The other controls feel intuitive too, you will do lots of pulling switched and pushing buttons all with the mote in the game. for instance, there are many parts where you need to pull a switch, which is done by pulling the mote away from the screen, twisting it clockwise, and pushing it back. As long as you are sat the right distance and right level from the TV, this will work very well. The grapple beam is also used by flicking the nunchuk at the target, and then pulling back to rip shields from enemies, pulling levers etc.

Well, now you have the skinny on how the game works, the features will make you smile too. There are tons of new upgrades for your powersuit, which is also upgraded near the start of the game, with a phazon enhancement device (PED) allowing you to enter hypermode, making you super powerful. The cost of this is that it will drain an energy tank.
Samus’s ship plays a key role in the game too, unlike the prior two prime games where you roamed one huge confusing world, corruption is divided into planets and other areas, making the game much easier to navigate. Your ship takes you from planet to planet. Your ship also allows you to save, replenish ammo, and do even more nice tricks. The command visor is obtained at the start of the game, which allows you to call in your ship to land on new landing sites, and do more features like call it in for bombing runs, allowing you to obliterate certain targets. There are more things your ship can do, but i wont spoil it for you.

In the game, you will collect vouchers which allow you to buy new content in the extras menu. You can buy artwork, music, and most interestingly, a screenshot tool and stickers for your ship. there is much more too.
You can get red, blue, gold and green vouchers. Green vouchers initially come in the form of grey friend vouchers. You then send these to your wii friends over wiiconnect24 so they can convert them to credit, and vice versa. There are no other wifi options in corruption, which seems like a missed opportunity, but the unlockable content adds plenty of replay value.

Well, i would go into more detail, but i think i have said enough.

CONCLUSION: Corruption is perfectly weighted, its a much neater package then the prior 2 prime games, the controls are perfect, and there are so many elements that put other shooters such as Halo 3 to shame. Aimless wondering is made a thing of the past thanks to clear objectives and the continue points help curve frustration when you die, meaning you spawn there rather than the last save point. The lack of online deathmatches is dissapointing, but when the single player game is this good, with so much unlockable content, it really doesnt matter. 97%

P.S. I recommend you go straight to veteran difficulty, its much more fun and challenging than the others.

Customer Review: This game rocks !!
I received my copy of this game first thing this morning, Friday, and couldn’t wait to get my chores done so I could sit down and start playing it. I finally did at 12:30 lunchtime. It’s now 02:49, Saturday. Admittedly I’ve had to have breaks to make the tea, feed and play with the pups, walk the dogs etc, the usual stuff, but all the while I’ve been itching to get back on the game. I’ve had to MAKE myself come up to bed or I’d have been at it all night.

This game is certainly addictive. It’s reminiscent of a mixture of Half Life and Project Eden - both on PS - and I loved both for different reasons. Metroid Prime 3 takes the best of both and melds them perfectly.

The controller and nunchuck are excellent tools for this game. For example, I love the way you turn handles or throw the grappler and yank it back (I won’t say how), to name a couple.

I expected the puzzles to be harder but I didn’t expect to have to kill so many ‘creatures’. It can get quite intense at times. The bosses so far have been pretty simple to work out but I’m hoping that will change.

Thank goodness this game came along because I was seriously thinking of getting rid of my Wii (I’ve only had it a couple of weeks) due to all the kiddie games and sticking to my Playstation. There’s just not enough of this genre as of yet but if this game is a sign of what’s to come I think I’ll hang onto it for a while longer.

This is a MUST BUY if you want to get your teeth into to some real action.

Wii Play (includes Wiimote controller) (Wii)
In a nutshell:
If you want as gentle an introduction as possible to the world of Wii then this user-friendly compilation of mini-games is just the thing for you, with a collection of games that are as easy to play as they are fun.

The lowdown:
It might be easy to use but the Wii is still a pretty unusual beast and a bit of a culture shock from the overly complex controllers of other consoles. This compilation of mini-games aims to ease you in gently with simple to play games that only need the Wii Remote to enjoy. These include games of table tennis, air hockey (or Laser Hockey as the game would have it) and an updated of NES classic Duck Hunt. There’s also Wii Billiards, a fishing sim and a number of games which use your customised Mii Channel character, including Wii Pose and the Where’s Wally style Find Mii. Since many of these games have a multiplayer mode the game also comes bundled with an extra Remote (but not a nunchuck), which usually sells for ?29.99 separately.

Most exciting moment:
Although all of the games are fun the best one is probably the Duck Hunt update (which also has you shooting UFOs and other non-avian enemies). Perhaps what’s most exciting about it is that it proves how good other light gun franchises, such as Virtua Cop and Time Crisis would be on the Wii.

Since you ask:
Many of the mini-games included with Wii Play, such as Duck Hunt and Table Tennis, were first seen as technical demos at the E3 trade conference in May 2006, when the Wii was first revealed in playable form.

Customer Review: We Play, Wii Play
I don’t know what to say about this game apart from “It’s Fun” The nine minigames are really enjoyable and never ever get boring… Even on one player! But two player is definetly the best!!!!! 10 out of 10!!! Highly Recommended!!!!!!
Customer Review: simple but addictive
The games are really simply and designed just to get you used to the remote, but are addictive and it’s nice to see the characters you have created popping up on different games!

Customer Review: Yawn……….
Meh……..dont bother, the simpsons in a game novelty wears off quickly even for the die hard fans. game play is basic and not a challenge. if you want a decent platformer go for mario galaxy.
Customer Review: So so
I had a toss up between Lego Star Wars and this, lets just say I made the wrong choice. The graphics are poor for such a new game, the camera is slow to follow you around and the characters keep saying the same thing over and over again. Yes I know this goes against most of what other people have said, but this game could have been done so well, it’s a shame really.

Customer Review: Dont be fooled by this Sd card, any will work….
This is basically a sd card, no more and no less. This is just a sly marketing trick to gather more money. Ive got the same brand sd card for wii for half the price. Just because it says its designed for wii, doesnt mean its only designed and compatible with only wii. It will work with anything and everything. Get a standard sd card, any will work with wii.
Customer Review: Not worth it
As mentioned by other reviewers, this SD Card is just a more expensive version of a normal SD card, you can buy a 2GB card for about ?5 if you buy directly from Kingston, who manufacture SD cards. Just search for Kingston 2GB SD card. My friend has an official Wii SD card and my Kingston card is just as good.
