I bought this for myself to use on my son’s DS Lite to brush up my school learnt French some twenty odd years ago. It tests you at first to see what lesson to start you on. You read about how to write French and translate English into French before inserting words into sentences, find words in word searches, hit moles on the head that have the right word wrote on them and answer multi choice questions. The words are said in French which helps you to hear how you should pronounce it. Each time you do a lesson or a game you are awarded points, when you attain enough points, ie show you understand the words/lesson the next lesson opens up. This is a fun way to brush up on French or to use an ancilliary aid for the kids learning French at school. I would definitely buy it if my sons were in secondary school or even in primary to give them a head start. I definitely recommend it for those wanting to learn a language, brush up on a language or for kids to help them at school. The main thing it is fun but you are learning at the same time.

I would never have guessed this was officially licensed by Nintendo. Te outer casing is good quality, albiet the embroided Mario looks a bit half-hearted. The plastic innards, however, supposedly to enable you to play your DS without removing it from the case, is absolutely horrible. It’s too thick, and the holes for the d-pad and buttons are too small so pressing them is a pain. It’s not exactly a snug fit either, mine looks like it has been stretched. Above both of these though - you can’t reach the stylus when the DS is in the plastic casing, so you’d have to take it out of the case just to get at it. Frankly, a below-par piece of kit with stupid design flaws. And the only time in nearly 15 years I’ve been let down by a Nintendo licensed product. Update 15/5/08 - I’m not sure why I left this out of the first review, but you can’t turn the power on or insert/remove a game while the DS is in this case either. After about a week I gave up and cut out the plastic. Now I have a decent case. Shame it came down to that.

It appears to work absolutely fine. I can’t really understand why Nintendo don’t include this with the console; it seems such an obvious thing to supply as standard. It’s certainly useful if you have access to a PC & don’t want to cart around the NDSlite psu. The USB cable seems to work OK in conjunction with the 3rd party FPUK NDS Lite Docking Cradle Power Stand, but I tried this only once. Please see my review of the docking cradle before you rush to buy it.

This cable works fine out of the box, making it clear also that Nintendo did not approve. This reduces the dependency on the big chargers for the mains and also could mean you didn’t have to buy a separate car charger if used with a Car socket to USB converter and also with the minty boost (search for it).

I played this for the first time last night. I played with a friend and we had a go at each of the games. It was great!! There is a good variety, the graphics are fun and bright and the controls are easy to pick up. I bought this game because of the cricket element, and although not test cricket by any stretch the swings of the wii remote for bowling and batting have been well thought out. The other games are good too… the boules was particularly popular! This game is great value for money at under ?13 and is a good addition to your collection.

Really enjoyable fun for the whole family to get involved. My 5 year old son is quite a wizz at all of the games. Disc golf and boules are great and the games are easy enough to play, although hubby said you need to know the rules of american football to make it easier to play it. All in all would recommend it as good value for the money.

Customer Review: Just as good as Lego Star Wars - why aren’t there more two player games!
With a 5 year old son I am still struggling with adulthood and cannot resist the urge to have a play with my Wii on a far too regular basis. Lego Star Wars and now, Lego Indiana Jones, gives me a great excuse to spend quality time with my son and still be a kid with computer games … fantastic! There are those who scorn children with computer games and yes, it should be limited. HOWEVER my son is now far more dextrous and solves puzzles and loves to read and build lego as a result of our “Wednesday Wii” afternoons. The gameplay is nice and simple to understand and the team play works so well (there are puzzles where one person has to be in one place and the other player has to pull a lever at the same time in order to progress). Other occasions where we can work well as a team are where one of us can be duffing up the opposition while the other one dashes about gathering coins and discovering spades and secret panels etc. As with Star Wars lego you can also create your own personalised character which is great and means that, even when you have completed the game in “Story Mode” you are really only half way through and can start from the beginning again and it never really gets boring. I have to confess though, I have searched on-line for a walk-through, y’know - just in case like! The walkthroughs and codes seem to be fairly easy to find (it’s already available on wikicheats.com) and the fast build and fast fix codes are quite useful. I heard a rumour that they may be doing a Lego Batman game too … bring it on!

After playing lego star wars i couldnt wait for this to come out. Ive been playing this a few days now and i havent been dissapointed, more great lego fun. Obviously the game is basically the same format to lego star wars with you playing your way through all 3 films. On first playing i have noticed that the levels seem to be more challenging than lego star wars, so for those who were dissapointed with the ease of lego star wars (i wasnt one of them) should find this more challenging. Again all the humour is present , which makes these lego games rise above similar titles. Ive played a few games on the wii but for me these lego games are te best. I think the beauty of them is that they dont take themselves too seriously. Its just a great romp of lego, humour , action and puzzle solving. enjoy !!
