Amazon Price: ?24.99
Customer Review: BEWARE
I purchased this on the box’s promise that it “works with any internet connection”. Not so! I connect through a USB modem, and the software supplied does not detect it. I am computer literate (I have a degree in computing science for goodness sake), and tried everything I could to get this to work. After some research, I found many many accounts of people with USB modems having the same problem. If you’ve got a normal ethernet connection, this will most likely work fine, but after my experience, I would NOT recommend this product. Do as I intend to do, and buy the official Nintendo USB connector instead.
Customer Review: Garbage
Don’t bother with this product, use any cheap USB WiFi adapter, your wii will pick it up, and after following the instructions for your wireless router you’ll be online in no time!

Winter Sports (Wii)
Price: ?39.99
Customer Review: WINTER SPORTS 2008 WII EDITION
Winter sports is the best sports game on the wii bar none. it is a hidden gem that most people dont know about, infact i only discovered it by accident. forget the other reveiwer that says the graphics are average cause there not, they are really good espesially when you run it on a hd telly like i have done + everything is authenticly done just like your watching it on the tv. If you liked mario & sonic at the olympics then you will love this it takes it to the next level in multi player, they apparently sold out all there first batch of stock so all i can say is buy this game now before it sells out again.
Customer Review: Good, but not great
This game is quite good and the controls work quite well. The graphics are just average though, overall the game is fun and the controls are easy to get used to, not one of the best games on the Wii, but it isn’t too bad.

Nintendo Wii Console with Billy the Wizard
In a nutshell:
As if the idea of five games in one package didn’t sound a good enough deal on its own the Wii’s best multiplayer compendium comes free with the console.

The lowdown:
Clearly realising that they need to provide some quick and obvious reasons why the Wii Remote is such a good idea Nintendo have packed in this compilation with the console, which includes simple versions of tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and boxing. The four player tennis game is the obvious stand out as you swing the Remote exactly as you would a real tennis racket, with the game seeming to almost magically interpret your movements into the game. All the other games work in a similar way, as you hold the Remote like a golf club or ready it like a baseball bat - you can even use it to gently roll bowling bowls and add some subtle aftertouch. The graphics make be purposefully basic but these are the games to instantly prove why the Wii is going to be such a revolution.

Most exciting moment:
While even Wii Tennis can be played with very minor movements of the Wii Remote the boxing game actively encourages you to act things out properly. You hold up both the Remote and the nunchuck to simulate your two hands and then duck and weave as you switch between trying to pummel your opponent and dodging or blocking their own attacks.

Since you ask:
You can use your own customised Mii Channel character in any of the games for that personal touch. The idea was originally just a joke featuring caricatures of Nintendo’s top brass for a press conference, but it proved so popular that Nintendo ensured anyone could make their own character to play with.

The bottom line:
Five of the best games on the Wii and they all come free with the console!-HARRISON DENT

Manufacturer’s Description:

Nintendo’s Wii video game system (pronounced “we”) is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together–whether they’re in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system’s name reflects this simple idea. It’s easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and the distinctive spelling suggests two players side by side. The two Wii features Nintendo thinks will create new levels of gaming community are built-in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming service, and Wii’s intuitive, wireless, motion-sensitive game controller.

Media bay accepts both Wii and GameCube discs

As with every new console release, much of the buzz surrounds the specs. The system boasts 512 MB of internal flash memory, two USB 2.0 ports, and a slot for SD memory expansion. Wii’s technological heart — a processing chip developed with IBM and code-named “Broadway” and a graphics chipset from ATI code-named “Hollywood” — are said to deliver stunning performance. Instead of a tray, Wii uses a single, self-loading media bay that will play both 12-centimeter optical discs used for the new system, as well as Nintendo GameCube discs.
The real revolution in this system, though, is its controller, called the Wii Remote. Shaped like a TV remote, it’s been designed to be easily used by beginners and pros alike. Sensors determine the Wii Remote’s position is in 3-D space, which means that racing-game steering and a tennis swing, for example, are done through movements of your hand rather than by just your thumbs. What’s more, a tiny speaker built into the Wii Remote promises some interactive surround sound experiences. The controller also has a force feedback “Rumble” feature and an expansion port for use with accessories, such as the Nunchuck, which adds an analog thumbstick and trigger buttons. An adapter that fits over the Wii’s wee remote will be available for those who prefer the feel of a traditional controller. The Wii Remote communicates via the Bluetooth wireless standard. Up to four remotes can connect to Wii.

A classic-style controller will also be available

Wii offers superb backward compatibility — the cornerstone of Nintendo’s all-access approach. This new console will play fan-favourite games from Nintendo’s 20-year-old library. The drive is compatible with GameCube discs, and select Nintendo titles from the original NES of the 1980s all the way through the Nintendo 64 will be available through for download through the Virtual Console. As if that weren’t enough, the Virtual Console will also make available a few titles from SNES console contemporaries, Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx 16.
Several new titles have been confirmed for Wii, including Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, as well as Square Enix’s Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.

A number of Wi-Fi-enabled titles are in development that will employ Nintendo’s newly-announced wireless gaming service, WiiConnect24. This worldwide network promises Nintendo players a comfortable, inviting environment in which they can gather and compete. The always-on network will deliver game updates and surprises, even when the Wii is powered down. And as you would expect, Wii will be able to communicate with the Nintendo DS mobile gaming system wirelessly.

The Wii console will revolutionise how people play games. But more importantly, it will entice new players into the world of video games by offering a variety of entertainment, information and communication Channels that add value to the console and make it a device that the entire family can enjoy. The Wii Channel Menu will be the first screen shown on the television, as it easily integrates itself as part of people’s everyday lives.

Disc Channel: This channel allows users to play either Wii game discs or the entire library of Nintendo GameCube discs.

Mii Channel: Fun caricatured portraits created in this channel can be used as characters across a variety of Wii software. Portraits can be stored in a user’s Wii Remote and taken to a friend’s house to play on another Wii console. Each member of the family can have his or her Wii Remote personalized with a caricature.

Photo Channel: This channel allows users to take digital pictures stored on an SD memory card and display them on their television screens. Users also can manipulate the photos in a variety of fun and creative ways, such as zooming or creating mosaics, puzzles or slide shows. They can draw, add stamps, and copy and paste. They also can change the “mood” of photos by brightening them, converting them to monochrome, inverting the colour or changing them to stark black and white. Users can even add an MP3 tune to their slide shows. It provides a fun and easy outlet for people to edit their digital pictures. Users also can send their pictures to other Wii consoles by attaching a photo to the Wii Message Board.

Forecast Channel: Users who have connected their Wii console to the Internet can access free local weather forecasts just a few seconds after turning on the Wii console. The WiiConnect24 service automatically updates local weather information. Users can view forecasts for cities around the world on a 3-D globe.

News Channel: Users can access breaking news with the touch of a button. When connected to the Internet, the WiiConnect24 service automatically updates this free channel and organizes it in a variety of topical categories. Users can see where news is happening by viewing the location of news stories on a 3-D globe.

Wii Shop Channel: This is where users go to buy Wii Points or redeem them to download classic video games to the Virtual Console. Users also can use points to download the Opera browser used in the Internet Channel.

Internet Channel: This channel dramatically changes the relationship between a user’s home, the television and the Internet. Users download the Opera browser with Wii Points. Then they can surf the Internet right from the comfort of their couch. They can do quick research while watching a television program (”What was that actor’s name again?”). Or book travel plans and shop during commercials. The service is compatible with Macromedia Flash.

Wii Message Board: Forget hand-scrawled notes tacked to the refrigerator door. Users can leave messages for other family members on a calendar-based message board. They also can use WiiConnect24 to send messages to people outside the home as well. Even better, people can trade photos and text messages with cell phone users. The service also allows for incoming messages targeted at software, such as a new map or weapon for a game. Games can constantly be updated, thereby extending their playability.

Carnival: Fun Fair Games (Wii)

Customer Review: Not very good for your adult gamer
First of all, if your a 23 year old male like me, who plays games regularly and appreciates all kinds of different games then you probably wont want to play Carnival Funfair Games. Most of all the mini games and boring and some of them have pretty suspest controls and outcomes. If your getting this for a young kid they will probably like it, with big headed characters and a variety of different games. But if your thinking it might be as good as Wii Sports or even Wii Play, you will be sadly dissapointed. Graphics are poor, similiar to N64 with Expansion Pack, sound similarly is of N64 cartridge quality. I dont expect miracles for ?17.98 or how ever much you payed, but you would still probably expect a bit more than this. Overall, a game which could of had potential but all in all feels like a rush job to make some quick cash.
Customer Review: great family game
This game is great for a whole range of ages, my youngest is 4 and she can do many of the games and loves the way you can dress up your character with the prizes you win. These are hats, shoes, and accesories like pirate costumes. My other children aged 11 and 7 also really like it and the 7 yr old can do all the games. My husband played it untill he had unlocked everything and then got a bit bored. I would recomend it for children and people who are not usually gamers (Like me) You need more than one controller to make the most of the multiplayer mode but it can be played with one controller. Overall great value for money. If you have kids you should definatly get it.

High School Musical (with Microphone) (Wii) Customer Review: Fabulous!
This is the BEST Wii game I have. I agree that the graphics could be better, and I wish they put in the voices of the real cast,so that’s why I’m giving it 4 stars. But other than that it’s a great game. It has good replay value, and if you have 2 microphones, multiplayer is great.

Customer Review: wii
this console is great fun,,but it does’nt take long before it sit’s there collecting dust.novety wears off very quicky..a great console for kids but for adults forget it..buy a ps3.
Customer Review: Wii - Excelent Games Console
The Wii is undoubtedly unique in the home console market. while motion sensitive controllers have been implemented on other consoles, none of them have gone about it in quite the same way. the wii remote acts as a pointer, can tell how far it is from the screen, and has motion sensing capabilities. all of these features work well in the varying situations that the games present.

To those who claim that the controllers don’t work, well I’ve seen people struggle to use them and blame the controllers when it’s been plainly obvious that what they’re doing with it is no where near what they are supposed to be doing with it or what they think they are doing with it. Some (most) persevere and figure out how to get it right, others blame the tools. This is part of the magic of the console, it brings a new dimension to getting the game right, it’s no longer just a matter of timing. if you prefer button bashing and analogue sticks then that’s fine, but the wii is not difficult to master, it’s fun to master.

The console it’s self is not as powerful as it rivals, but there’s no rule to say that a powerful console is better all the time. the wii has quick load times and the quality of graphics that nintendo has always churned out. if all you want from a game is photo realism then the wii isn’t for you, but please try to remember that this is a piece of hardware bought solely to play GAMES on. the only point of playing a game is to have fun.

there could be more games for it, but the ones that have been made specifically for it benefit greatly from the controller. they work really really well and are great fun.

to sum up, i would be inclined to think that the people who feel the controllers are poor probably didn’t get it right the first time they picked it up and gave up with them (we’re all guilty of doing that at some point in our lives). Those who say it’s boring after a day have more of an issue with the games they have for it, but bear in mind wii sports is a free starter game, it’s not meant to be an in depth saga, i’ve racked up 45 hours on LOZ. Those who are offended by the consoles power are frankly misguided in the decision making process, the consoles control system is next gen, not it’s processor, and who cares if it wasn’t anyway? I’d still play on my commodore 64 if it worked because it’s fun.

Sight Training (Nintendo DS)

Sight Training (Nintendo DS)
Customer Review: Good Fun - but can be annoying
I bought this game as I thought my eyes could do with some serious training. And havent been disappointed. I love the sport options which get unlocked the further you progress though the core games. I do feel though that the harder levels are unlocked quiter early on. The core games can be slightly annoying - especially if your tired, and also being asked to check your eye age everytime you go into game. It tells you to do it only 3 times a week. The guy on the top screen really does my head in, the graphics are really disappointing especially when you see the sports games. Overall a good game and good value for money.

Customer Review: Excellent!
I love this because it’s exactly what you think it will be. It’s easy to get started, it has a few different areas to train in e.g. you can just play Sudoku if you want, measure your brain age or do the daily training.

The brain training is good fun and progressively harder/challenging. It’s impossible not to keep going with this if you have even a slight competitive streak.

Really recommend for anyone that wants to use their DS for mind expanding as well as playing games. Buy it!

Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS)

In a nutshell:
Start a new life on your DS with the most unlikely source of online addiction you’ve ever experienced. You’ve complete freedom to customise your home and the town around it as you socialise with the locals and your friends alike.

The lowdown:
The world of Animal Crossing seems a peculiarly simple one at first: there are no levels to be beaten or bad guys to overcome, just a cheerful little village to maintain, as you water flowers, catch fish and dig for fossils. But before you know it the game has its hooks in you, as you meet friends via the Wi-Fi Network Connection to chat and compete or start playing the turnip stock market. With over 600 different pieces of furniture to collect the game has a near infinite lifetime and by running in real-time with special events all through the year you’ll find yourself checking in daily with what’s going on around town.

Most exciting moment:
Winning a fishing competition against three friends and rubbing their noses in it via the online chat.

Since you ask:
The first Animal Crossing game was actually released on the N64 in Japan – the GameCube version was a slightly enhanced version of this.

The bottom line:
Live the life idyllic on your DS with the best use of the Wi-Fi Network Connection yet.

Customer Review: Addicted - I need help!
I love this! I enjoyed the Sims a few years back on my PC, but found it too time consuming to worry about them using the loo and making food etc etc! Animal Crossing is Perfect for those who enjoy a real-time sim without any of the fuss of everyday life. I can’t add anything new to the reviews, but this game is wonderful, so enjoyable and relaxing and, darn…don’t I have an essay deadline that I’ve just lost several hours of writing due to me playing this game?! I can’t get enough, and just have to get back online to check out my furry friends and how they’re doing! It’s sad, but I love it!
Customer Review: Animal Crossing : Wild World - The Best DS Game I Own!
Animal Crossing is so amazing! Unlike other games, AC is not very structured, so you can do whatever you want. There are loads of things you can do! Animal Crossing time reflects ours, with morning, day, evening and night, but also the 4 seasons. In winter it snows, in autumn leaves fall, etc. Different events happen too! First, you choose your town’s name, and your name. The taxi driver will ask you a few questions, and then you are all set to go! You go first to Tom Nook, where he will ask you to do a few tasks and errands, taking items to the different animals that live in your town. You also have a map, so you can’t get lost! When you complete your jobs, Tom Nook tells you about your mortgage, that you have to pay off. He also explains that you can buy things at his shop. You buy things with ‘bells.’ The animal crossing equivalent of money. You can buy equipment… Shovel - Plant trees and flowers to make your town beautiful! You can also dig up fossils, and bury items in the ground. Fishing Rod - Go to either the sea, or the river to catch the fish. Different fish appear at different times of the year. Watering Can - Water the flowers you’ve planted, and keep them alive through all weathers! Slingshot - Presents on balloons fly through the air; shoot them down and then collect your prize! Net - Use your net to catch butterflies and bugs. Axe - Use the axe to clear the land. Timer - Use this timer to hold fishing or bug catching competitions with friends! You can also buy furniture, wall paper and carpets to decorate your home! Paper is must have to write to your animal friends, they’ll even write back to you! As you buy more things, Tom Nook will expand his shop! Eventually, he will add on a barbers shop where you can change your hairstyle. There are lots of other places you can go… Able Sisters - Mabel & Sable run a clothes shop, where you can buy ready made clothes, or even design your own! Your patterns can go on hats, clothes, carpets, wallpapers and even umbrellas! Town Gate - Go to the town gate and talk to Copper if you want to visit a friend’s town. If you use Wi-fi, you can visit a town anywhere in the world! If you speak to booker, you can change the town flag, and claim any items in the lost and found. Museum - Donate fossils, bugs, flowers and paintings to the museum, and they will be displayed for all to see! Upstairs there is an observatory where you can create your own constellations! On a Saturday from 8pm onwards, if you go the cafe, KK Slider will play for you! Town Hall - Mail a letter, pay your mortgage, access your bank account, and change the town the town tune… There is so much you can do! Other animal’s Homes - Drop in on your neighbours! They might even want to visit you! Make friends with your fellow residents, and they ay give you gifts, of clothing, furniture or wallpaper! You can also run errands. Everyday something new happens, so you never can get bored! Outside of the DS game, there are many AC Communities, where you can chat to other AC players. There are also ways to get special items, or get more money. This is the best ever game and I would recommend everyone to buy it!

I received a DS lite for Christmas and Sight Training was the second game I got for it. (The first being more Brain training). I defy anyone not to enjoy using this great little collection of programs, particularly the sports games. I am unsure as to whether using Sight Training actually improves your eyesight but there is much fun to be had trying to lower your eye age in a similar way to trying to achieve a lower brain age in Brain Training. The different exercises involve tracking moving objects using your eyes and using the stylus to tap objects on the screen. Others test your peripheral vision by flashing symbols in different parts of both screens and then asking you to recall what they were or indicate where they appeared. Your progress in daily tests is recorded and then plotted on graphs which can be compared with your friend’s profiles. The more you play the more games are unlocked. Overall, this title represents excellent value for money and is one to be enjoyed by people of every age.

USB Charging Cable For Nintendo DS Lite Customer Review: Does what is says on the box…
It appears to work absolutely fine. I can’t really understand why Nintendo don’t include this with the console; it seems such an obvious thing to supply as standard. It’s certainly useful if you have access to a PC & don’t want to cart around the NDSlite psu.

The USB cable seems to work OK in conjunction with the 3rd party FPUK NDS Lite Docking Cradle Power Stand, but I tried this only once. Please see my review of the docking cradle before you rush to buy it.

Customer Review: Great but for the delivery
This cable works fine out of the box, making it clear also that Nintendo did not approve. This reduces the dependency on the big chargers for the mains and also could mean you didn’t have to buy a separate car charger if used with a Car socket to USB converter and also with the minty boost (search for it).

Nintendo Wii Console inc Wii Sports
In a nutshell: As if the idea of five games in one package didn’t sound a good enough deal on its own the Wii’s best multiplayer compendium comes free with the console. The lowdown: Clearly realising that they need to provide some quick and obvious reasons why the Wii Remote is such a good idea Nintendo have packed in this compilation with the console, which includes simple versions of tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and boxing. Most exciting moment: While even Wii Tennis can be played with very minor movements of the Wii Remote the boxing game actively encourages you to act things out properly. You hold up both the Remote and the nunchuck to simulate your two hands and then duck and weave as you switch between trying to pummel your opponent and dodging or blocking their own attacks. Since you ask: You can use your own customised Mii Channel character in any of the games for that personal touch. The idea was originally just a joke featuring caricatures of Nintendo’s top brass for a press conference, but it proved so popular that Nintendo ensured anyone could make their own character to play with. The bottom line: Five of the best games on the Wii and they all come free with the console!-

Charging Stand & 2 Rechargeable Batteries For Nintendo Wii With FREE MAINS ADAPTER
This item is a great must have item if you have a Nintendo Wii. This will eliminate the need for buying endless batteries for your Nintendo Wii remote and therefore save you money. Simply remove the battery cover from the back of your Wii remote and place one of the supplied 2800mAh batteries in its place. Charge the remote on the stand as shown above and after two hours you will have a fully charged Wii remote which will provide you with up to 16 hours of playing time. The best thing about this item is that it will charge two remotes at the same time (you can play with one while the other is charging) and also it provides a convenient resting place for your remote. Usually stands of this type need to plugged into your Wii and your Wii has to be switched on for the charging to take place. So for a limited time only we are also providing a FREE mains charger which will independently power the stand from any mains socket for your convenience.

Customer Review: It’s a remote…….
Everyone here is complaining! It’s an immense remote! You Point it at the screen and the cursor comes up, it has shake control, tilt control, it’s got everything! Why not buy it!
Customer Review: Wii hand controller
I bought what I thought was a second WII controller as a Christmas present. However The controller would not power on. Four blue lights come on when the inside red light is pressed but we cannot sinc it to the console. Also the instructions were in Japanese and the box stated for use in Japan only. I cannot understand why Amazon advertise these on there site. It appears that this is through an Amazon subsidiary and there is no returns policy online. There is a claims procedure for refunds but the Amazon website does not have enough information or tell you what to do with the WII controller. I would recommend strongly NOT to purchase a second controller through Amazon.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 (Wii)

While Electronic Arts’ other sports games may be locked in a deadly rivalry with their competitors there really hasn’t been a golf sim to go head-to-head with Tiger Woods for years. There doesn’t seem to be too much laurel sitting going on though, especially since this is, like many Electronic Arts games this year, the first time the game has been designed specifically with the next generation of consoles in mind. Naturally that means the most realistic graphics yet, not only for the course itself but also for Tiger and the other real-world golfers. Their faces and expressions look totally life-like and on the PS3 and 360 you can use a webcam or digital camera to import your own face and graft it to your own in-game custom golfer.

In terms of gameplay the major new feature is the concept of “shot confidence” which monitors your performance through your whole career, adding an extra degree of tension to difficult shots but also allowing you to examine your game in detail to find out where you’re going right and wrong. After criticisms that last year’s game was a bit thin on options this new game has the greatest number of courses ever including Westchester Country Club, TPC Boston, Cog Hill and East Lake. There’s also the expanded GamerNet mode which acts like a sort of YouTube just for the game, allowing you post in-game videos and challenge other people to a game in an online world dedicated to nothing but golf.

Customer Review: A Hate-Love Relationship….
I hate golf. I find it boring, long-winded and pointless. Its only redeeming features are the open air and the occasional murmur of nearby fauna. So imagine my surprise when, having acquired a shiny new Nintendo Wii, I became profoundly addicted to the Wii Sports golf game!

As other reviewers have mentioned, playing the same 9 holes over again is not so much boring as frustratingly limited, and I soon felt the urge to take my living-room golfing career to a new level. Bratz and Barbies are not exactly my cup of tea, so Panya Golf was of course out of the question, and I sought a more realistic, professional style of game. The most obvious option (and most likely the safest bet) was Tiger Woods 08. Fortunately I was not disappointed…

The first thing that struck me was of course the graphical realism compared Wii Sports. Ahh… I can almost smell that country air and freshly-mown grass. These highly-detailed graphics do tend to cause juddery images all too frequently, but that is more down to hardware than software. This also accounts for the lack of visible spectators (they cheer a lot, but are nowhere to be seen) but I don’t wanna be looking at people anyway. The second thing that struck me was the rather unintuitive menu system, which uses the “-” button to backtrack through the options, whereas “B” would seem the obvious choice, and a cumbersome zig-zag layout of the icons. Still, it doesn’t take long to get used to. Only Nintendo can make 100% user-friendly user interfaces, so EA can be forgiven for not quite hitting the mark here.

Gameplay-wise, EA have come up with ALMOST exactly what I was looking for. Sure, the Wiimote does not always respond as intended, you can’t feel the club hitting the ball like in Wii Sports, and the ball seems preprogrammed to stop 6mm short of the hole on every putt (this effect diminishes as your “Luck” increases), but with eighteen full 18-hole courses and dozens of different championships, game modes and customization options, and even the occasional murmur of nearby fauna, TW’08 is sure to keep me engrossed for many, many months to come. The learning curve is fairly steep, but highly rewarding after a while as you win money and experience points that can be spent on improving skills and equipment.

The courses are beautifully recreated (I imagine) as are the picturesque landscapes (I suppose) and the real-life players (I guess - the only one I know is Tiger Woods. Wot no Sevvy Ballesteros?!?) The commentators’ remarks are poignant to the point of clairvoyance and often dryly humorous, which makes for a more lighthearted feel to it all, but in no way detracts from the constant feeling of striving for professional perfection. I really feel compelled to improve my swings, pitches and putts, and after only a few days am already feeling that yearning to get on the links of an evening and work my way to the top!

Pro golfers would probably scoff at the tacked-on frivolities such as taunts, post-tee-off spin control, RPG-style levelling-up system and $1000 blue rinses, but for links-virgins like me the sheer enormity, variety and well-roundedness of this game are enough to justify spending 40 quid on the in-home green fees.

So did I mention I love golf? It’s one of the most challenging, frustrating and satisfying sports in the world, and certainly the most addictive. And it’s all recreated here in Tiger Woods ‘08, in the comfort of your own home. All, that is, except REAL open air and nearby fauna….
Customer Review: Playing golf in your living room
I had played Tiger on PC, PS3 and PSP before and found them very relaistic in gameplay and wondered if the Wii could match this. Having read a number of reviews that said the putting was difficult and needed to use the analouge stick I became sceptical.

I still took the plunge and have not looked back as the game is very quick to set up and get to a reasonable level of play. The swing action and it’s sensitivivity is as close as possible to playing real golf and the putting I am pleased to say is likewise. You are rewarded by having a smooth slow pendulum action with the correct strength and reading teh burrows of the green.

The graphics are not yet to PS3 levels but the speed of gameplay makes up for missing having a crowd and realistic water. A round played well can take half the time of the PS3 game as the loading between holes is much quicker.

Congrats to EA for prodcuing what was required for a Wii player in being able to use the full functionaliity of the remote in gameplaying.

Enables continuous game play

Comes with a cable to recharge the battery pack

Customer Review: GREAT PRODUCT - WILL SAVE YOU MONEY IN THE LONG RUN…
Great product, works well and you can use the two USB ports on the back of the Wii to recharge the battery packs. I have our Wii Console sitting in a handy bag, (designed to hold the Wii, remotes, nunchuck etc…) ready to lift and take away when needed so I didn’t want to buy one of those charging stands that would take up more room and gather dust. This solution keeps everything nice and tidy and it all fits in the bag - excellent product. The item that I received was identical to that shown in the images for the product.

Customer Review: RECOMMENDED Trust me!!!
The items great and works perfectly and is very simple. The wires not long still its better to leave it charging.

It also charges on the XBOX 360 and PS3 that is great

Charges quick and thats it really. I don’t have much to say

I RECOMMEND it to all the people who have Nintendo Wii

Manufacturer’s Description:

Nintendo’s Wii video game system (pronounced “we”) is designed to attract people, regardless of their age or video game experience, to sit down and play together–whether they’re in the same room or on different sides of the globe. The system’s name reflects this simple idea. It’s easily pronounced in a variety of languages, and the distinctive spelling suggests two players side by side. The two Wii features Nintendo thinks will create new levels of gaming community are built-in Wi-Fi access, supported by a new online gaming service, and Wii’s intuitive, wireless, motion-sensitive game controller.

image1

Up to four remotes can connect to Wii.

image2

Customer Review: If It Was A Real Person, The Board Would Go Flying…
Yes, the interface is slick and well done, the board view could be bigger, but it’s not a problem. My main gripe is with the lexicon… your CPU opponents will come up with words which, although they are supposedly in the official Collins Dictionary used, you will find yourself questioning… so you decide to take off the gloves and fight fire with fire, and guess what? Your offerings are disallowed! I consider myself an average to good player, yet within 3 hours of picking this game up I was frustrated beyond belief. The last straw came when it would not allow me to put down ‘Zen’, and yet my opponent had been allowed some very odd words indeed. A big disappointment, overall.
Customer Review: My best DS game so far
This is a fantastic version of scrabble and even better because unlike the board game you don’t have to find/force humans to play against you! The graphics are great, and game controls fairly intuitive, you can zoom on sections and move around the zoomed in board easily. The only downside is that the words allowed are obscure, e.g. abbreviations, interjections are allowed and these settings cannot be changed. It also uses the Collins dictionary and this too cannot be amended. That said, it still is highly addictive and challenging - definitely my best game so far rating above Brain Training, More Brain Training & Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Wii)

For over a decade now fans have been wondering just what a team-up between Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog would be like. Everything from traditional platform games to complex role-playing titles have been suggested, but it’s fair to say nobody imagined that it would finally happen in the form of an athletics simulator. It’s officially licensed from the 2008 Beijing Olympics though (Sega already had the license for their own more traditional tie-in) and contains all the usual events you’d expect including the 100m sprint, swimming, judo, table tennis, hammer throwing and archery. Sega have even been talking about using the new Wii Zapper controller for a spot of clay pigeon shooting.

More than twenty-five characters from both universes will be playable in the game, including not just Mario and Sonic but also Luigi, Tails, Yoshi, Knuckles, Bowser, Doctor Eggman, Princess Peach and Amy. Other characters will have cameos as judges such as Cream the Cat and Toad. You’d expect some characters to be naturally better at some sports than others but each has their own strengths and weakness, with even Sonic’s incredible speed mitigated by his slow acceleration. The whole game is developed by Sega but overseen by legendary Nintendo creator Shigeru Miyamoto, with full tournament and missions modes as well as online leaderboards for all the different events. The name may sound like an April Fool’s joke at first but this crossover could well be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Customer Review: Mario & Sonic - Brilliant
I bought this for my 7 and 9 year olds and they think it is fab. There are games to unlock which keeps the interest going. The games are unknown until they are unlocked.

Even the parents found it fun!

Customer Review: Brillant
Got this today and its great. The whole family love it.

Good graphics and great gameplay, a must for the Wii.

A good selection of events and the Track events and swimming can be knackering but also good fun.

Link’s Crossbow Training (inc. Wii Zapper) (Wii)

Customer Review: Good simple fun!
Picked this up yesterday and have had such a laugh with the game and the zapper. Wanted it to play Resident Evil, but found the crossbow game was not bad. No idea why anyone would pay these prices for it when Tesco’s have it for ?17.71. Makes the Wii that little bit more fun and offers you a little sillyness. Can’t wait to try playing more games with the zapper. The zapper itself is very simple and easy to use. Feels well made and offers a nice way to store your controllers when not in use.
Customer Review: good but not perfect
Construction It’s definitely cool looking and pretty durable, but there are a couple of flaws that I’m sure will be corrected in future versions of this zapper. When holding the zapper, it is a bit awkward to shoot with your forward hand and steer your guy with your back hand. It is cleverly constructed to hide your wire from the wii-mote to the nunchuck. When it is fully put together, it balances well and feels pretty solid. We did however notice that when reloading your gun in Medal of Honor (by quickly jerking your gun upward) there were a few times when the wii-mote came loose from it’s housing. This is frustrating because if the wii-mote slips out, the zapper mechanism won’t hit the trigger (b-button) on the wii-mote. This is extremely frustrating in a battle situation if you’re reloading with someone coming at you. You’ll be toast. About a third of the people who play it at our house have had this issue, but if you’re reasonably gentle, you should get the hang of it. I am going to assume that in the future, Nintendo is either going to make their own, or outsource a Wii Zapper where the trigger is in your back hand and you steer with your front hand. It will be much more intuitive. In fact, as the wii expands, you’ll probably see a lot of sweet designs. The zapper is constructed as it is in order to give you a low cost to having this ability now. Function in games Once you adjust your sensitivity and height, you will be much more comfortable. When I first tried it, without any tweaking, it was much too touchy. I don’t know how it affects things, but on a large TV, it was just too fast and twitchy until we adjusted things. One flaw that we noticed is that if you move your cursor too far to one side, it will come back on the other side of the screen. For instance, if your cursor is near the right side of the screen and you move further right, even though your zapper is still pointed to the right, your cursor will reappear on the left side. You have to do the reverse process to get it back in line. This of course is frustrating in a game. It is probably like this because I have a 56 inch tv and we were standing pretty close. On a smaller tv, it may not have this same effect. With all of that said though. The Wii Zapper is headed in the right direction. Once a couple of killer games come out and some tweaks are done, you’ll see Sony and Xbox copying the idea, and playing Halo, or Call of Duty with a standard remote will be a thing of the past. Once you start marching through Medal of Honor or even the training game, you realize that this is how you’ve always wanted to play first person shooters. I’m guessing that the race is now on. If the Wii can get Call of Duty 4 or some game like it to incorporate the Wii-Zapper, you won’t want to play Halo 3 again until xbox can design a zapper. Mark my words: It’s the future, and in a year all three major systems will be marketing souped up zappers for first person shooters. You’ll be bored with standard controls after trying the zapper. All in all. For ?20, if you have a wii, you should get the zapper. It’s worth it for the Link’s Crossbow. It’s another fun addition to any wii party. Non-gamers will have as much fun as hard core fans, just like almost everything on the wii so far

Customer Review: Feckin Brill
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game. I’d repeat how much I love it more but you should get the idea. I’m totally kicking my fiance’s ass and he is not happy. I actually think theres a secret assasin in me. Am fighting to get my last 2 platinum medals but its so much fun that I’m enjoying it all the way. And now that I’m almost finished with the “training” I think they should bring out the real deal. I’ll be lining up to get it as soon as it comes out

Customer Review: A Cool invention
I bought this game as it looked like alot of fun. I was not disappointed. The Wii Zapper is a cool invention it works really well with the game included Links Crossbow training. In this game you hit the targets or monsters to earn points. The wii Zapper works well with Resident Evil Umbrella. I give this game plus Wii Zapper 10/10 as this is a really original item.
