Excite Truck (Wii)
In a nutshell:
Nintendo are readying a brand new race game for the Wii and it’s not F-Zero, Mario Kart or anything you’ve ever seen before. Instead you’ll believe a 4×4 can fly!

The lowdown:
Every console needs a goodly number of quality racing games if it wants to really succeed and that’s not always been Nintendo’s forte. Excite Truck though is an attempt to create a game that marries the all out fun of Mario Kart with something, not realistic but at least less obviously cartoonish. Yet again the Wii Remote is used in a completely different way, this time holding it horizontally and rotating it left and right as if it was a steering wheel. The only other controls are accelerate and brake on the ‘1′ and ‘2′ buttons, although you will land better if you tilt the controller up while you approach the ground. Despite this purposeful simplicity it’s one of the better looking Wii games, with a huge draw distance and some impressive speed blur effects. It looks the part then, but more importantly it seems to play it too.

Most exciting moment:
A good lick of speed is always important in a racing game but this has got to be one of the fastest racers ever - and that’s before you turn on the turbo boost. To make things even worse (better) picking up power-ups allows you to deform the terrain, creating enormous jumps out of thin air that send you flying for what seems like miles.

Since you ask:
The name Excite Truck is a reference to the NES game Excitebike and its N64 update Excitebike 64. Beyond the name and the fact that it is a racing game though the two titles do not appear to have anything else in common.

The bottom line:
Nintendo’s first modern racer for years looks like a truck load of fun.-HARRISON DENT

Customer Review: PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This game is just brilliant. I think how you have to move the Wii Remote to steer is much better than just hitting the left/right buttons, because it’s more energetic. It’s really hard to steer, but that makes it more fun! The best racing game I’ve ever played.
Customer Review: So Much Fun
This is one you should buy even if you don’t normally go for this type of game. I bought this for my partner who loves the more serious driving games and he is addicted to it. I’ve never enjoyed driving games but even I’m addicted to it because it asks you to do everything most other driving games don’t do - enjoy, smash into things, leap over bridges of some obscure Scottish Castle, fly over glaciers, smash through forest etc and it rewards you the more havoc you cause. There is no blood or gore, there is no commentating, no scantily clad bodies, no swearing and definitely no zillion options to complete before you start - you can just drive or if you want, take the very amusing tutorial. Definitely worth the money.

2GB SECURE DIGITAL (GAMING) The SanDisk SD Gaming Memory Card line is the must have card for the Nintendo? Wii? game console. For maximum performance and to get the most out of all the advanced features on the Wii?, you?ll need a SanDisk Gaming Card. With SanDisk, you will be able to download and store games, store game saves, and edit and store photos.
Customer Review: Much better value than it used to be
These Wii labeled SD cards used to be very overpriced as some of the reviews indicate. However at less than ?4 they are now reasonable value either for use with the Wii, or any other device which uses SD cards. It is worth noting that as has been said this is just a normal SD card (of good make) and does not offer any actual benefit for Wii use over a none Wii labeled good quality SD card.
Customer Review: “Official” Wii SD card? Aye Right!
Why Why Why Why Why spend double the money for an “official” (in other words “white”) version of a standard SD card. There is no difference in the specs. Its simple, dont bother.

the SD card is inserted into the Wii anyway so nobody sees or cares what colour it is!!!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 (Wii)

While Electronic Arts’ other sports games may be locked in a deadly rivalry with their competitors there really hasn’t been a golf sim to go head-to-head with Tiger Woods for years. There doesn’t seem to be too much laurel sitting going on though, especially since this is, like many Electronic Arts games this year, the first time the game has been designed specifically with the next generation of consoles in mind. Naturally that means the most realistic graphics yet, not only for the course itself but also for Tiger and the other real-world golfers. Their faces and expressions look totally life-like and on the PS3 and 360 you can use a webcam or digital camera to import your own face and graft it to your own in-game custom golfer.

In terms of gameplay the major new feature is the concept of “shot confidence” which monitors your performance through your whole career, adding an extra degree of tension to difficult shots but also allowing you to examine your game in detail to find out where you’re going right and wrong. After criticisms that last year’s game was a bit thin on options this new game has the greatest number of courses ever including Westchester Country Club, TPC Boston, Cog Hill and East Lake. There’s also the expanded GamerNet mode which acts like a sort of YouTube just for the game, allowing you post in-game videos and challenge other people to a game in an online world dedicated to nothing but golf.

Customer Review: the best tiger ever…
i really thought carefully about this game before the purchase. i’d played other tiger games on the xbox and had tried tiger 07 on the wii which i didn’t like. This was mainly due to the fact that i’d This happened often and was so annoying that i gave back the copy i’d borrowed and never bought the game myself. Instead i bought pangya golf which started ok, but within a few hours i found the learning curve unbelieveably steep and the opponents regularly sinking 30 foot puts to beat me. I sold it on ebay. Then tiger 08 comes out and has some good reviews. Keen to get a new golf game i purchase and find it’s brill. Yes the swing needs some getting used to and sometimes it doesn’t seem to register your shot correctly but mostly it works well (much better than 07!!). I find if i keep my hands straighter than i normally would, and swing in an exagerated fashion the wiimote registers my shot correctly most of the time. I’ve started working through the tiger challenge mode, which is big, and i’m enjoying myself loads. i don’t win every challenge first time, but the variety of types of games keeps things interesting. The multiplayer mini games look excellent although i’ve not tried many myself. One annoying fact is that you can’t save a round half way through. You can skip most of the cpu’s shot but a round can still take up to 45 mins and so a midgame save would have been good. overall - I was hesitant before purchasing but now i’d recommend it strongly.
Customer Review: Excellent fun, especially for two players
This was the first “proper” game I bought for the Wii, and I have not been disappointed. The initial tutorial was a bit scary, and after 2 or 3 games my wife and I were not sure if we liked it. But we perservered and now this game is a regular Friday or Saturday night companion with a couple of bottles of wine. Definately best when playing someone else, (although the Tiger challenge is well worth doing to bolster your purse and allow you to buy crazy head gear or clothes) the only drawback we have is the occasional quirk resulting in you exclaiming “I didn’t hit it that hard!” And just when you think you’ve mastered the backspin on your tee-shot, your competitor comes along and “adds” a gust of wind to blow your shot into the bunker! Go on buy it - you won’t regret it!

Customer Review: Great product, great price!
Having recently changed the position of my wii I noticed it looked a bit barron, having no support, which is also a worry for ventilation. I noticed this item flicking through Amazon, and thought for ?10 quid why not? Glad I did, not only does it make the console look very smart, the compartment allows me to have a little more room by sticking away a controller and nunchuck. The slot for the sensor is a bit pointless to be honest, but apart from that, very happy with the item.
Customer Review: Verty stylish console stand - Wii like very much!
Just received my Wii horizontal console stand this afternoon and must say that i’m extremely impressed with the unit. The stand is particulary usefull to me as although the Wii does already come with its own console stand when purchased, this can only be used for placing the unit in its vertical position. While this is fine if you have a room with plenty of shelf space, it does tend to pose a slight problem if you fancy using it somewhere where you don’t have as much shelf space such as a video cabinet. Personally I’m not overly keen on just lying the console on its side due to ventilation problems ect. Also another problem I have had since purchasing my Wii is that with all the Wii Remotes and Nunchuck controllers you need for multiplayer games when friends come round is storage space. I’m not particulary keen on just leaving controllers lying around the place. The Wii vertical stand has been designed to solve these two problems in one package. The stand is designed with a base plate which you slot your Wii onto and a handy tidy box compartment at the side in which you can place a Wii Remote and Nunchuck. Not only does this small side compartment help to save a bit of room and mess on your tops, but also both the box and lid have been carefully designed and constructed so they match the size and contours of your Wii console which means that when you put it all together both the console and stand lay perfect flush together. For me though what really makes the stand look totally cool is the official Wii logo on the front of the tidy compartment box. The stand is officially licensed by Nintendo and is manufactured in the same quality white plastic finnish as the Wii. I cannot recommend this stand enough, so if your looking for something to solve both storage problems and an alternative to the vertical stand available this should be perfect
