Mario Kart DS (Nintendo DS)

Mario Kart DS (Nintendo DS)
Customer Review: Completely over-rated
This game is, as the title says, completely over-rated.

For starters, it cuts through the battery life very quickly, especially if you’ve got the sound on. Because of that, I played the game with sound off, most of the time so I didn’t have to constantly charge my DS. I suppose playing with the sound off wasn’t much of a loss, seeing as the sound in this game isn’t anything special.

The game gets VERY repetitive after a short period of time. Any half-decent gamer could complete this game in less than a day, easily. When you complete it, there’s nothing to keep you coming back to play it again.

The graphics are just plain average, and are nothing too eye-catching.

I didn’t enjoy the racing either, it was tedious and it got repetitive and too easy, really quickly. All you have to do is learn the AI’s racing line and the game becomes a lot easier, because you place items in their racing line, and they’re not smart enough to avoid them.

The only reason I gave it 2 stars, is because it can possibly keep you going for a few hours, if you’re bored enough.

There’s better things you can spend your money on, instead of this.

Customer Review: Magnificent Mario Kart!
After trying New Super Mario Brothers I was a little apprehensive about this. I couldn’t get into Mario Brothers at all and was hopelessly diappointed and extremely frustrated.

I am, however, usually good at racing games and thought I would give this a go. I was so pleased that I did as this game is fantastic, one of those games that you don’t want to put down, that you can’t get enough of. I won races!

This game is worth purchasing and with it I had fun for the first time with anything Mario related!

Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS)

In a nutshell:
Start a new life on your DS with the most unlikely source of online addiction you’ve ever experienced. You’ve complete freedom to customise your home and the town around it as you socialise with the locals and your friends alike.

The lowdown:
The world of Animal Crossing seems a peculiarly simple one at first: there are no levels to be beaten or bad guys to overcome, just a cheerful little village to maintain, as you water flowers, catch fish and dig for fossils. But before you know it the game has its hooks in you, as you meet friends via the Wi-Fi Network Connection to chat and compete or start playing the turnip stock market. With over 600 different pieces of furniture to collect the game has a near infinite lifetime and by running in real-time with special events all through the year you’ll find yourself checking in daily with what’s going on around town.

Most exciting moment:
Winning a fishing competition against three friends and rubbing their noses in it via the online chat.

Since you ask:
The first Animal Crossing game was actually released on the N64 in Japan – the GameCube version was a slightly enhanced version of this.

The bottom line:
Live the life idyllic on your DS with the best use of the Wi-Fi Network Connection yet.

Customer Review: Addicted - I need help!
I love this! I enjoyed the Sims a few years back on my PC, but found it too time consuming to worry about them using the loo and making food etc etc! Animal Crossing is Perfect for those who enjoy a real-time sim without any of the fuss of everyday life. I can’t add anything new to the reviews, but this game is wonderful, so enjoyable and relaxing and, darn…don’t I have an essay deadline that I’ve just lost several hours of writing due to me playing this game?! I can’t get enough, and just have to get back online to check out my furry friends and how they’re doing! It’s sad, but I love it!
Customer Review: Animal Crossing : Wild World - The Best DS Game I Own!
Animal Crossing is so amazing! Unlike other games, AC is not very structured, so you can do whatever you want. There are loads of things you can do! Animal Crossing time reflects ours, with morning, day, evening and night, but also the 4 seasons. In winter it snows, in autumn leaves fall, etc. Different events happen too! First, you choose your town’s name, and your name. The taxi driver will ask you a few questions, and then you are all set to go! You go first to Tom Nook, where he will ask you to do a few tasks and errands, taking items to the different animals that live in your town. You also have a map, so you can’t get lost! When you complete your jobs, Tom Nook tells you about your mortgage, that you have to pay off. He also explains that you can buy things at his shop. You buy things with ‘bells.’ The animal crossing equivalent of money. You can buy equipment… Shovel - Plant trees and flowers to make your town beautiful! You can also dig up fossils, and bury items in the ground. Fishing Rod - Go to either the sea, or the river to catch the fish. Different fish appear at different times of the year. Watering Can - Water the flowers you’ve planted, and keep them alive through all weathers! Slingshot - Presents on balloons fly through the air; shoot them down and then collect your prize! Net - Use your net to catch butterflies and bugs. Axe - Use the axe to clear the land. Timer - Use this timer to hold fishing or bug catching competitions with friends! You can also buy furniture, wall paper and carpets to decorate your home! Paper is must have to write to your animal friends, they’ll even write back to you! As you buy more things, Tom Nook will expand his shop! Eventually, he will add on a barbers shop where you can change your hairstyle. There are lots of other places you can go… Able Sisters - Mabel & Sable run a clothes shop, where you can buy ready made clothes, or even design your own! Your patterns can go on hats, clothes, carpets, wallpapers and even umbrellas! Town Gate - Go to the town gate and talk to Copper if you want to visit a friend’s town. If you use Wi-fi, you can visit a town anywhere in the world! If you speak to booker, you can change the town flag, and claim any items in the lost and found. Museum - Donate fossils, bugs, flowers and paintings to the museum, and they will be displayed for all to see! Upstairs there is an observatory where you can create your own constellations! On a Saturday from 8pm onwards, if you go the cafe, KK Slider will play for you! Town Hall - Mail a letter, pay your mortgage, access your bank account, and change the town the town tune… There is so much you can do! Other animal’s Homes - Drop in on your neighbours! They might even want to visit you! Make friends with your fellow residents, and they ay give you gifts, of clothing, furniture or wallpaper! You can also run errands. Everyday something new happens, so you never can get bored! Outside of the DS game, there are many AC Communities, where you can chat to other AC players. There are also ways to get special items, or get more money. This is the best ever game and I would recommend everyone to buy it!

Hamsterz (Nintendo DS)

Hamsterz (Nintendo DS)
Customer Review: THIS IS A BRILL GAME !!!
Hi, I would say this is a great game you get to

1 pick your Hamster

2 name it

3 play mini games

4 feed your hamster

5 let it out of its cage

6 connect with your friends

And lots more I would buy this game.

Customer Review: Excellent - for very very young children
This is a very simple game. My child is 4 and a half years old and really really enjoys looking after the hamsters. Initially I thought she would get bored very quickly as she has nintendogs (and can play this well) which I think has a lot more to offer in terms of what you can do with your dog. However, surprisingly, she loves this simple game. This is definitely not suitable for the older child or adult who would get bored after learning how to use it (which doesn’t take long). THIS GAME IS MOST DEFINITELY FOR THE VERY VERY YOUNG CHILD AS ONE OF THEIR FIRST NINTENDO GAMES.

Nintendogs Labrador Retriever & Friends (Nintendo DS)
In a nutshell:
The ultimate evolution of virtual pet: Nintendogs gives you opportunity to preen and look after a selection of cute puppies in a virtual home, with virtual currency, where you can buy toys and accessories for their enjoyment. You can clean the pups, feed them, walk them, play catch with them, and even talk to them.

The lowdown:
Nintendogs is brimming with character. Each pup looks out from the DS touchscreen and paws longingly. You can respond to your virtual pet’s need of attention by stroking the screen, using items such as balls and brushes with the aid of the stylus, and talking to your dogs through the DS’s inbuilt microphone system. Impressive 3D graphics give lifelike animation to these canine wonders.

Most exciting moment:
After a few attempts to speak commands into the microphone, your puppy understands the meaning of “sit”, barks approval, and sits down. It’s good to talk.

Since you ask:
You can keep three pups in your home at any time. When left to their own devices, they’ll play and play-fight together. And they call this ‘puppy love’.

The bottom line:
A Nintendog is not just for Christmas.

Customer Review: The official Nintendogs Review!!! …kinda
I think that This game is really inspirational for anyone who is considering getting a dog!!! If you are either allergic to dogs/not allowed one this is really good for you!!! I think that it is good because you can buy the dogs and give them a name the microphone is really useful too!! I absolutely love this game, it is fantastic and it is lovely!!!!!! From JuLiEtXxXxXxXx Yoyo
Customer Review: Funnnn!!!
I got this game for christmas and have been playing it since,it is a really fun game but it is a bit annoying when your dog can’t remember its own name!It can be a bit repetitive but it kept me entertained. The contests are fun because there are different levels starting as a begginner class then into open class then expert. I felt a bit stupid shouting into a microphone trying to get it to sit but when it does learn it makes you feel happy! Overall I think that it’s a good fun game that will keep you entertained for a while.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Justice For All (Nintendo DS) Customer Review: An adventure game in lawyer’s clothing
If you’re not sure what this game is, I’ll start by clarifying: it is, in effect, an old-school graphical adventure game. If you’re too young to remember those, it basically means your character goes to different locations, you pick stuff up, you converse with people, and you try to interact objects in your inventory with other things (in this case, just people).

That doesn’t really do the game justice, though. This really is a thinking man’s game, and the vast majority of the time you can use reason to work out what to do next, rather than the random experimentation (and let’s not forget mouse-sweeping) characteristic of the genre. The story seems more involving for the emphasis on deduction.

The game is split into four cases, where the pattern is generally that you spend a while investigating and gathering evidence (in the process working out about half of what happened) and then spend a while in court, unable to go anywhere and trapped in one conversation in which you can “die” (your client gets found guilty) if you make too many wrong guesses, though in some cases you do get to go out and do more investigation. In contrast to the “health bar” that can only diminish in court, while investigating you can’t “die” in that sense (though you can reach zero “life”), and can recover “life” by breaking what the game calls “psyche locks”, which are in effect just the normal get-information-out-of-people routine, only harder (and requiring more objects as evidence). By making a wrong guess with a psyche lock, you lose “life” just as you would in court, but when you finally get someone to reveal their secret, 50% life gets added, so starting the court part with very low chances happens rarely.

This is a Japanese game (as quickly becomes clear if it wasn’t already), so you do have to deal with the occasional translation inaccuracy (it’s about 99% correct, and always clear) and rather odd “localisation” which involves the characters declaring that they are in the US, despite the presence of a clearly Japanese village in the game, and a rather bizarre conversation in which a character says they imported a British car (obviously in Japan this was an American car) at considerable expense because it’s basically big, loud, fast, and shiny.

Being basically linear, there is a definite end to this game, and it probably will come sooner than you’d like (though that last case is rock hard), but you’re still talking about several hours, normally. Sometimes while playing you do hit the traditional adventure game flaw of “this should work”, where there is an object with a property sufficient to do a task, but you actually have to use something else - in this case, you’d object (and lose life) while thinking, “the testimony DOES contradict the evidence!”. With a limited number of guesses that you can make, this does make the game frustrating at times, and for that I’m popping a star off its rating.

Overall, it’s very good fun (I suppose dependant on you being into mysteries, crime shows, or the like), with a few noticeable flaws holding it back. Just try to resist googling for a walkthrough, because it’ll ruin the fun!
Customer Review: Frustratingly good!!
first of all, this is a great game, and i would recommend it to most ds users, as long as you are patient, and are not just into fast action type games.

there is a LOT of looking around, and speaking to people.
the frustrating part is a bit of both! you cannot get past certain areas without speaking to certain people, or finding certain things. and il admit now that i used a walkthrough just a few times, and even after reading what to do, i knew that without “cheating” i never would have found the evidence i needed!

the next annoying part, for me at least, was in court, only sometimes though. same as above, you cannot get past certain parts without giving some evidence, and as im not the sharpest knife in the drawer, this was sometimes challenging, as the most obscure piece of evidence is neede to prove something.(cannot think of any examples right now, but trust me, they are there!)

on the up sides though, its a very addicting game, and very entertaining, i was quite happy just reading the script like a story, without actually having to give evidence etc, its just like a very good cartoon on the tv!

looks very nice indeed, and the characters are great, some you will love, like little pearls :) and some you will hate like von karma (you foolishly foolish fool)

overall a fantastic game, sad that it ended really! and im very much looking forward to the next for more frustrating and yet very entertaining gaming.

Essential for playing games downloaded from the Virtual Console, this controller will work for every game downloaded, and the controller can also be used for compatible games for the Wii. Customer Review: Much better image quality but…
unfortunately it shows the limit of the graphics of the Wii.
In 480p, the image is much sharper and you get less flickering, but it also shows that the Wii is lacking a good anti-aliasing. I’m also not sure that a non-Nintendo cable would not works as good as this quite pricey cable.
