Cooking Mama (Nintendo DS)

Cooking Mama (Nintendo DS)
Cooking Mama challenges players to use the stylus as a master kitchen tool to cook 76 real world dishes ranging from pepperoni pizza to cabbage meat rolls. Players use the stylus to chop, slice, pan fry, knead, grate, mash, peel and more. Under Mama’s watchful eye, players must first prepare ingredients, then combine, cook and present the final meal all via the touch screen. Players can even cool down dishes by blowing into the DS microphone.

Customer Review: wow!
when i got this game i wasnt really expecting it to be much good, but i was wrong! this game is great and has all of the fun of the kitchen inside one little ds game card! i really enjoy making rice cakes ect on it and i think that every person who has a DS should definately get cooking mama!!!!

Customer Review: Good at first
I got this game along time ago and it was brilliant… at first.

Soon i had made all the recipes, there were no more to make!

So that game has been in the case along time and not looked at.

If youre looking for a game that one day ends thats your one.

However it is really fun making and cooking different foods at first.

In my opionion its ok.

Customer Review: Handy
As soon as I got my pink DS, I had to get the accessory pack to go with it. The case is very handy, as when I put it in my bag, I don’t have to worry about my DS getting scratched or dirty. It’s a bit bulky, and the colour didn’t really match the pink on the DS, but it’s not really a big problem. I love the earphones with the volume control on it, and the in car charger is very useful. I don’t use the game case much, as I only have one game at the moment, and the colour of the case makes it look cheap. But all in all, it was a good choice to buy the pack!
Customer Review: Excellent
Got this to go with the DS lite. It all is fine. Excellent little case to carry 3 games and keep a spare pen to. Its hard covered so protects the DS. Also has a carry strap. This is brilliant for keeping it in but also for taking it on holiday. Came with pink car charger and pink headphones - although the headphones did say they had a volume control - but they don’t.

UNIROSS NINTENDO DS BATTERY 3.7V 820MAH LI-ION
UNIROSS NINTENDO DS BATTERY 3.7V 820MAH LI-ION

Tamagotchi Connexion Corner 2 (Nintendo DS) As soon as the original became the best selling, non-Nintendo published game for the DS in Japan, it was only a matter of time before a sequel appeared. As with the last game this isn’t just a simulation of the original virtual pet keyrings, but instead has you setting up and running a series of shops with one of three Tamagotchi partners. There are twelve shops in total, with new premises being unlocked as you do well with the initial ones by performing in a series of mini-games.

Each game is completely different, depending on the shop - so you might be preparing sushi in the sushi bar or helping out and playing in the bowling alley. Although most of the shops are brand new some of the ones from the first game do make a remixed appearance, such as concert hall where you can now actually sing along with the tunes using the DS’s inbuilt microphone. Success in each of the games furnishes you with “Gotchi points”, which can then be used to buy things for your Tamagotchi partner, from furniture to clothes and even food. These will help endear your Tamagotchi to you, who has five levels of mood depending on how well you have been doing minding the shop and whatever you’ve bought for them lately. If you upset them they’ll end up bad mouthing you in front of customers.

Since its pretty much the same game with different shops in it, those that liked the original Corner Shop will naturally appreciate this. There’s very little depth to any of the mini-games though, so while some DS games like Nintendogs and Animal Crossing have been able to cross the gender and generation gap, this is probably only going to be entertaining for very young kids.

Customer Review: Gets easly boring
My best mate lent me this game. I found it fun at first but after about 10 minutes I began to get tierd of it. What you do is, you have this shops and you have to make clothes and bake cakes while hoping that the princess will come and maake your shop bigger. But the thing is their are only a limted choice of things your costimers can choose from so you end up making the same things other and other again.

All in all this game might be fun for children 6 to 8 years. It’s not a bad game only very simple and childish!
Customer Review: A fun and very cute game!
Although this game can get very annoying after a while, overall it’s very fun and allows you to be creative using the stylus as an icing pen to decorate cakes and loads more.

The characters are adorable and they make very sweet sounds when talking, but their demand for things is irritating (they always want their cakes and clothes to be EXACTLY the same as the order). We’re only human, give us a break!

This game is enjoyable, although eventually the novelty wears off a bit. But overall, it’s a lot of fun!

Nintendo DS Lite Handheld Console (Pink)

Nintendo DS Lite Handheld Console (Pink)
In a nutshell:
It may have taken the world by storm with its huge range of genuinely innovative new games but there’s no denying that the Nintendo DS is not exactly the most portable of portable consoles. That’s all changed now with this sleek and sexy update.

The lowdown:
When the Nintendo DS was first announced it was dismissed by many as a white elephant - with a gimmicky interface and underpowered graphics. Over 15 million sales later and the story is a little different. The DS Lite is fully compatible with all existing Nintendo DS (and Game Boy Advance) games but it’s smaller, sleeker and lighter - with a new design that perfectly matches the Nintendo Wii console. The most impressive feature is the new backlit screens which offer the sharpest image ever seen on a portable console. The DS Lite is available in three separate colours: White, Black and Pink.

Most exciting feature:
The DS Lite now has four brightness settings - the highest is brighter than even the PSP and is clearly visible in any lighting condition. That sound? That’ll be Sony executives running to the hills - wearing sunglasses.

Since you ask:
The Nintendo DS is the fast selling console ever in Japan. When the DS Lite was released, it sold out instantly, with queues of over 1,000 people a common sight.

The bottom line:
The DS gets a face lift to become Nintendo’s best looking portable ever. - Harrison Dent

Customer Review: BRILLIANT!
I love it! its so good! I love the colour!

brilliant highly recommended!

Customer Review: <3<3<3 My DS
I’ve been wanting a pink DS Lite ever since the launch, and my boyfriend recently got me it for me. It’s the best thing ever, I can have hours of fun on it and it just looks so cool and girly, I love it! New Super Mario Bros was fun to play, but now that I’ve finished it, Im waiting on my R4 DS, which I heard is a must-have if you’ve got a Nintendo DS. Since I’ve had my DS, 3 of my friends have gone out to buy it as well, and I’m getting my boyfriend one for himself.

The colour screens are really bright and the battery life is good, I have my screen resolution on the 3rd setting (there’s 4 settings) and I can play up to about 4-5 hours in total on it, then the red battery light will come on. The wireless game modes are a lot of fun, and there’s loads of stuff you can buy to customise your DS. I also got the accessory pack for it which came with a matching case, ear phones and in-car charger, so now I practically take my DS everywhere with me =]

Sonic Rush (Nintendo DS) Customer Review: This is how sonic the hedgehog should be.
Isn’t it ironic that the best sonic title since sonic and knuckles all those years ago, appears on a nintendo console?
This game has gone back to basics and ditched all the rubbish sonic clones and crap storylines and has just stuck with simplicity. This game is as fast as hell and you can pull of some sweet moves and there are some truly memorable moments. You get to play as sonic and new kid on the block: Blaze. which now brings me to the reason why i gave this 4 stars.
The new character, blaze is simply rubbish, no way near as fun as sonic and could have been easily replaced by (my favourite) knuckles.
when you select blaze, you just get to play the same levels with this character which lets the game down some what, because you get the feeling of being forced into repetition.
Overall, a good solid sonic title, if you don’t have it, buy it now! it will keep you busy until sonic rush adventure!
Customer Review: Maybe I’m getting too old for this type of game
Remember spending many a happy hour on the Sega Megadrive guiding the little blue hedgehog through numerous levels of increasing difficulty, so approached this game with a degree of anticipation. How disappointed I was once I started to play. The level of difficulty from the off is absurd, as many have said the speed of play is so fast that there is more luck than skill in getting to the end of stage.
Given that others seem to love this game it is perhaps time for me to hang up my red boots.

Customer Review: Don’t bother!
Was excited about getting this but it took less than a month to get bored and trade it in. I think in that time I only played it about 5 times. The choice of songs is ok, but even if you are a rubbish singer its easy to score high points. The dancing on the other hand seems very hard and the tutorials are stupidly short. You try out the “steps” 3 times - meaning that if you waft the remote about for a few seconds you tend to do it whether you intended to or not! If its singing you are after - go for one of the singstar games on the PS2/3 - great fun and much better realised than this. Dancing wise, you are best sticking to one of the older style dance mat games out there. Great idea but really badly worked out. Shame.
Customer Review: Singstar’s still tops for me
I was so excited to buy this game to play over Christmas with all hte family; we are big fans of Singstar on the Playstation and I had expected great things from this with the dancing as well as singing. I was very disappointed. I found it laboriously slow to get started and some of the controls were annoying. The dance moves were rubbish, it was just like waving around the controller and you don?t really have much control over the moves the computer character makes. Also, if you use the controller and the nunchuk for extra moves, how do you hold the mic to sing? We got around this by having one person sing and another dance and it was fine as we have a large sitting room so we both both bop around whilst playing, but if your space is limited, what do you do? sit on the sofa and wave the controllers while the other person sits and sings along? The choice of songs was limited and not that impressive. The vocal assist is a good idea but didn’t work too well. You either hear too much of the original vocals on the playback or you have to switch it off completely. In all, i prefer Singstar much more for the choice of songs (however, the more you play Boogie, the more songs are available that you can unlock - i just didn’t have the patience for that thoguh others might find it appealing). The dance part was also disappointed. I was somehow expecting for the character to be able to pick up some of my own moves, which is not possible!! I would rate this as definitely more for the kids.

Nintendo Wii Console (Includes Wii Sports) In a nutshell:
As if the idea of five games in one package didn’t sound a good enough deal on its own the Wii’s best multiplayer compendium comes free with the console.

The lowdown:
Clearly realising that they need to provide some quick and obvious reasons why the Wii Remote is such a good idea Nintendo have packed in this compilation with the console, which includes simple versions of tennis, golf, baseball, bowling and boxing. The four player tennis game is the obvious stand out as you swing the Remote exactly as you would a real tennis racket, with the game seeming to almost magically interpret your movements into the game. All the other games work in a similar way, as you hold the Remote like a golf club or ready it like a baseball bat - you can even use it to gently roll bowling bowls and add some subtle aftertouch. The graphics make be purposefully basic but these are the games to instantly prove why the Wii is going to be such a revolution.

Most exciting moment:
While even Wii Tennis can be played with very minor movements of the Wii Remote the boxing game actively encourages you to act things out properly. You hold up both the Remote and the nunchuck to simulate your two hands and then duck and weave as you switch between trying to pummel your opponent and dodging or blocking their own attacks.

Since you ask:
You can use your own customised Mii Channel character in any of the games for that personal touch. The idea was originally just a joke featuring caricatures of Nintendo’s top brass for a press conference, but it proved so popular that Nintendo ensured anyone could make their own character to play with.

The bottom line:
Five of the best games on the Wii and they all come free with the console!-HARRISON DENT
Customer Review: don’t pay over the odds try this
I had a play on my brothers Nintendo Wii and decided to get one. I was unaware of the scarcity of the Wii until I came to buy one. ?300 plus for an item previously sold for ?175 is out of order. Then I discovered Amazon de ( the German arm of Amazon) selling the same spec but with a euro plug - easy to sort - - multi language manual , plays all UK games, for a total price delivered of ?175. Can’t be bad. No problem using Amazon de, open a checkout in both Amazon UK and Amazon de and one explains the other. Remember not to proceed with English purchase. Delivery will be in 2 weeks. No catch and has pan European guarantees and Amazon name. Hope this helps
Update - it arrived 4 days after ordering, how fast is that?
the price worked out at ?175 - nothing more to pay for a PAL version
Customer Review: THE FAMILY CONSOLE
PS3 and 360 owners - please stop harping on about the graphics and performance. The Wii was never mean’t to compete with the next gen consoles and it never will, nintendo saw a niche in the market which was to entice people who previously had no experience or little interest in console gaming. You only have to look at the majority of titles for the wii - they are simple, fun and above all easy to get into even for first time gamers. I see the Wii has the party/family console, in terms of power it is not a million miles away from the old gamecube but its the controller that makes the difference which is great although on some games you still can’t beat a good old gamepad.

THE GOOD: Incredibly easy to use, best console for young kids by far. Excellent for parties etc. Good Value for money. Backward compatible with gamecube games. Full downloadable catalogue of retro games. Some very unique games not available on other consoles.

THE BAD: Graphics have’nt been evolved much since the gamecube. Control system expensive. Tiny internal memory, as yet only SD memory cards available (but there is talk of a external HD which will then make the console as expensive as a ps3 ?299). Still no DVD? Serious titles a bit thin on the ground with many titles being direct ports from other consoles ie PS2 - therfore not taking advantage of the wii.

Overall I like the wii for quick bursts of fun but I would’nt want to have it has my only console.

Hope this review was helpful

2000 Wii Points Card (Wii)

2000 Wii Points Card (Wii)
Wii Points Card for downloading extra features and content, including the greatest games from the NES, Super NES, N64, Sega Megadrive and NEC TurboGrafx video game consoles. Using the card is as easy as entering a Wii Points Card code at a Wii onscreen menu.

Customer Review: Essential for those classic titles. Do not pay more than ?15 maximum for it though…
This little card will enable you to download all those classic titles fom the original Nes console all the way up to the N64, lest me not forgetting the mega drive and Turbographx titles. If you prefer not to use this card you can use a debit or credit card for the same price. (Except paying by card on the wii you can buy the points in smaller or larger chunks, 1000, 2000 or even 5000). It works out 70p per 100 points providing you pay ?15 for the card or over the wii itself with a debit/credit card.

Here are the prices:

Nes: 500 points

Snes: 800 points

N64: 1000 points

Turbographix: 600-800 for more advanced titles

Mega drive: 800 points

With more consoles soon to be added, stay tuned.

Please bear in mind to use the wii shopping service you will require a broadband connection.

Customer Review: Great feature, read on save ?1.
If you buy two sets of 1000points using the wii interface you’ll get it for ?14. So you save a pound.

Wii points are great, slightly overpriced which is rumoured to go down by 60% by 2008(source wii forums). You can download virtual games or Wii content. I am not going to repeat what the other reviewers have said because I’ll bore you.

Is it worth saving a pound? If you want a replacement case then no, if you want. If you want to get points INSTANTLY, then yes! Or if you don’t mind if you don’t get it instantly and want to save ?1.01 then go to Woolworths(?13.98).

Remote and Nunchuk Protector Kit - Pink (Wii)
List Price: ?7.99
Amazon Price: ?7.99
Customer Review: Best Deal & Quality around
I only buy licensed products so when I stumbled across this I was quite excited! I bought one in pink (for me) and one in blue (for the other half). No more arguing about which remote belongs to who! This brand comes with a skin for the nunchuck AND the wii remote. The other licenced skins for sale on this site do not come with a cover for the nunchuck, and cost the same as this one practically. It fits very well. No gaps, no bigger / smaller than required holes. Helps the remotes to stay in your hand, and made from a very soft and pliable silicone. It’s great. Get one!

Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Wii)
In a nutshell:
Now everyone can be a brain surgeon as you pick up scalpel and forceps to battle the full horrors of an infected intestine, medical terrorism and angry anime nurses!

The lowdown:
The original Trauma Center is already one of the most original and fun games on the Nintendo DS but although this is largely just a remake of that game it’s more than welcome on the Wii. As accurate a simulation of real medicine as Phoenix Wright is of law (i.e. not very much) you’ll nevertheless have great fun repairing hapless patients with ailments that start of as simple tumours to bizarre fights against evil terrorist nanobots. What really makes the game though is the simple intuitiveness of the controls, with the precise movement of your scalpel being one of the best endorsements of the Wii Remote’s accuracy. The game’s no push over though and you’ll need to employ the mysterious bullet time style “healing touch” to make sure you don’t end up the Doctor Death of Hope Hospital.

Most exciting moment:
Although the game is a remake of the DS it does include several new missions, an extra playable character, new operation types and new surgical tools - including a defibrillator which demands a shout of “clear!” every time you use it.

Since you ask:
A surgery game was one of the first styles of games hinted at in an introductory video for the Wii, which also showed people appearing to play games involving fishing, cooking and playing the drums - amongst other non-typical games concepts.

The bottom line:
Major surgery has never been so much fun as the Wii and DS line-up combine.-HARRISON DENT

Customer Review: Great fun if you used to like Operation
I bought this for my retired mum and all the family have now played it and loved it. Basically the screen shows the part of a patient’s body that needs operating on it. You use the nunchuk to select various tools (eg forceps, scalpel, bandages, suture thread, laser, ultrasound scanner, syringe, disinfectant, and other tools) and then use the main wiimote pointer to use each tool to extract foreign bodies, cut, and so on). It requires a deft touch just like Operation and there’s a bit of pressure as you have to work against the clock so that the patient doesn’t die on you from having their innards exposed to the world! Great fun but I only gave it 4 stars (not five) because of two small gripes. One - the game isn’t that long. If you play loads of games and tend to finish them quite quickly, this one will probably only last you a half-dozen hours. But it is great fun in the meantime and we had great fun watching each other operate as a family! Two - there are some slightly annoying cutaway scenes. The programmers have tried to create a story around the operation and I found myself pressing the ‘A’ button on the wiimote repeatedly to hurry them along. But overall still great fun and decent value.
Customer Review: very differant
it is a good game to start off with but it is one of those games that you either love it because it is so differant or hate because it is a bit fiddally. But if you have good steddy hand and want to challenge yourself buy this game

Customer Review: smackdown vs raw 08 on wii
it is a good game but alot needs to be improved for instants the controls are very bad and no fatal 4 ways or steel cage or ladder or any good matches accept harcore and triple threats but it is very fun also when you are used to it i got it very cheap only ?19.99 in game but i expected better.
Customer Review: Cackdown 2008
Remembering the joy I had playing the PS2 version while staying at a friend’s house I snapped this up thinking that it would be exactly the same but with some cool motion sensor action to boot. How wrong can one person be? It must have at least 60% of the (24.99) PS2 version hacked out of it, no main events, crap season mode, and worst of all a god awful control system! most of the game play is basically automatic and just involves swinging the Wiimote in any direction with no real control over the wrestler, most of the wrestlers have the same moves apart from their finishers, it’s like going back to the days of Royal Rumble on the SNES! This game could have been great but THQ have seemed to go for the “casual gamer” multi play game effect. I’m not sure why as the Wii already has that market sewn up with the “family games”. If you’ve played the other versions you can’t help feeling like you’ve been ripped off, especially when the Wii version is about ten quid more than the PS2 version! I just hope that THQ realise what they hae done and release a new Day of Reckoning game to make up for it. I’ve since taken “Cackdown 2008″ back and exchanged it for Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. If you’re a die hard wrestling fan and have played the previous versions of Smackdown then avoid this like the plague!
